Privacy
This page lists every third party zeldaootremake.org loads, the cookies and browser-storage keys it uses, how long each lasts, and how to turn the optional ones off. If a script is not named here, it is not part of this build.
Who to write to
The publisher is the editorial desk behind Zelda OOT Remake. Email [email protected] for access, correction, deletion, or withdrawal requests. We reply from that address. The site is a static guide; there is no account and no login.
What loads by default, and how to turn it off
This site follows a default-on policy. On your first page view, with no stored choice, Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity and Adsterra are requested immediately. YouTube is requested only when you click the trailer preview button, even after Accept. The cookie banner tells you this and offers Accept and Reject; it is not a gate in front of the scripts. Choosing Reject turns the optional analytics, session-replay and advertising scripts off and stores that denial for 180 days. The footer link “Cookie settings” reopens the banner so you can change the choice at any time.
Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC, measurement ID G-KNFF4JJXC9) is loaded from googletagmanager.com and reports to google-analytics.com. It sets the first-party cookies _ga (up to 2 years) and _ga_KNFF4JJXC9 (up to 2 years), and collects the page URL, referrer, device and browser details, interaction events and an approximate location derived from the IP address. This public build does not establish the GA4 account’s event-retention setting; Google’s current policies and the account configuration govern retention. We use it to count visits and see which guides are read. First-visit loading is a site default rather than a recorded affirmative consent action. Reject stops this tag on subsequent page loads and updates its consent state.
Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Corporation, project z8tcu8wdri) is loaded from clarity.ms and scripts.clarity.ms. It sets the cookies _clck (up to 1 year), _clsk, CLID (up to 1 day) and the Microsoft MUID cookie (up to 1 year), and records heatmaps and session replays of clicks, scrolling and page rendering. The project’s account-level masking and retention settings are not established by the public tag; consult Microsoft’s policy for its processing practices. We use it to find pages that are hard to use. Reject stops the tag and calls Clarity’s consent API to deny collection.
Adsterra (Adsterra Network, publisher ID 3403020, website ID 6177287) supplies the Native Banner and the fixed Social Bar on this site. The ad scripts are served from bicea.org and the creatives and measurement calls come from Adsterra’s creative CDNs, including show-creative, show-sb, cloudpiko and nresystems hosts. Adsterra and its partners may set cookies or read device identifiers to limit frequency, measure impressions and, where you have not opted out, personalize ads. Adult advertising is switched off for this website. We do not control the lifetime of Adsterra’s cookies; its privacy policy states the current periods. Reject removes the ad loaders and remembers the denial.
YouTube (Google LLC) is used for the trailer embed. The local trailer preview button makes no YouTube request. Clicking it creates a youtube-nocookie.com player; accepting the banner alone does not create a player. Loading the embed lets Google receive your IP address, the page URL and device details and may set YouTube/Google cookies (including VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE and YSC) before playback. YouTube’s own privacy policy and terms apply once the player is running. Reject removes an open player and returns it to the preview button.
No other advertising network, pop-under, smartlink, push-notification SDK, traffic-mesh banner script or social embed is part of this build. Fonts and images are files hosted on this domain.
Browser storage on this device
zoot_consent is a localStorage key, not a cookie. It stores the choice (granted or denied), an expiry timestamp 180 days ahead and the time it was written. The banner reads it on every page view so a Reject survives reloads and later visits.
zoot_adbar_closed is a localStorage key that remembers that you dismissed the Adsterra Social Bar. It stores a closed flag and a timestamp and expires after 180 days, so the bar does not return on the next page view.
zoot_collectibles is a localStorage key that stores the checklist boxes you tick on this device. It holds checkbox ids only, is never uploaded, and remains until you clear site data.
We do not set a first-party cookie for the consent choice or the checklist. The cookies named above belong to Google, Microsoft and Adsterra and are set by their scripts.
Your choices and processing
The first-visit enabled state is this site’s configuration, not evidence that you gave affirmative consent or that a legal consent requirement has been satisfied. An explicit Accept or Reject records a choice for 180 days; you can reopen the banner from “Cookie settings” in the footer and reject later. Global Privacy Control (GPC) and Do Not Track are read on load; when either is on, we treat the visit as Reject and do not load the optional scripts.
You can also block or delete the cookies in your browser. Deleting zoot_consent makes the next visit a first visit again, which means the default-on behaviour applies until you reject once more. You can clear zoot_collectibles and zoot_adbar_closed the same way.
For personalized advertising you can opt out through the Digital Advertising Alliance (https://optout.aboutads.info/), the Network Advertising Initiative (https://optout.networkadvertising.org/) and Google Ad Settings (https://adssettings.google.com). Adsterra’s own privacy policy and opt-out information are at https://adsterra.com/privacy-policy/. These choices are device- and browser-specific.
You may ask us for a copy of the information you sent us, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to processing. Email the address above. You may also complain to a data protection authority where you live. We do not sell personal data.
Retention and changes
The consent record and the Social Bar dismissal last 180 days. The public integration files do not verify GA4 or Clarity account-retention settings; Google, Microsoft, Adsterra and YouTube process data under their published policies and applicable account settings. The checklist stays until you clear it.
If this policy changes, the date on this page changes with it. The current date is 5 November 2026.
Questions
Do you use cookies?
Yes. Google Analytics 4 sets _ga and _ga_KNFF4JJXC9, Microsoft Clarity sets _clck, _clsk, CLID and MUID, and Adsterra and YouTube set their own cookies when their scripts or player load. The consent choice, the Social Bar dismissal and the checklist use the localStorage keys zoot_consent, zoot_adbar_closed and zoot_collectibles instead of first-party cookies.
Do the analytics and ads wait for me to press Accept?
No. This site loads Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity and Adsterra by default on the first page view. The banner informs you and lets you reject; Reject turns the optional scripts off and is remembered for 180 days.
How do I change my choice?
Use “Cookie settings” in the footer to reopen the banner, then press Reject or Accept. Reject removes the analytics, session-replay and advertising loaders and the YouTube embed, and stores the denial for 180 days.
Does the trailer load before I click?
No. Only clicking the trailer preview button creates a youtube-nocookie.com player. Accept alone does not load it; Reject removes any open player.
