Lizalfos
Lizalfos are the leaping lizard pair. In Dodongo’s Cavern they are a sub-boss. In the Spirit Temple they return. The search traffic is about the new art as much as the fight.
How the pair behaves
They do not both swing at once in the classic pattern the record describes. One leaps, the other waits, and they trade places by jumping over you. The opening you are told to take is the overhead sword: raise the shield, then hit while that lizard is recovering. I am repeating the record’s combat line, not a frame count from a video I timed.
Dodongo’s Cavern is the child-route mine, after the Deku Tree, before Jabu-Jabu. King Dodongo is the boss of that cavern. Lizalfos are the fight in the middle, not the medal at the end. The Spirit Temple is an adult dungeon. Meeting them twice is why a single “early enemy” label is wrong.
Drops are not in the record I stored. I will not add rupees or a rare item. If your run shows a drop, it is yours to note. This page will not pretend a table exists.
The art query
The keyword behind this page is an art query, hundreds of searches in a month, not a “how to beat” query. People want to see the redraw. The enemy record’s remake field is empty. I can say the whole cast was rebuilt in a stylized-realism direction, because that is the game-wide line from Nintendo’s interviews and from Polygon. I cannot say this lizard’s snout moved two centimeters. No comparison still is attached to the row.
Until a sourced before-and-after exists, the useful page is the fight pattern plus that honesty. The enemies table links here so the art search does not dead-end on a spreadsheet cell.
Questions
Where are Lizalfos?
Dodongo’s Cavern as a sub-boss pair, and again in the Spirit Temple.
How do you fight them?
One at a time. Block the overhead sword swing and strike during the recovery, per the combat note.
Did the model change?
The game’s art direction changed. This enemy’s own change cell is empty, so no specific redraw is claimed.
