Launch-day scores

The review embargo is over. The number to quote today is Metacritic’s 96 from 84 write-ups, beside OpenCritic’s 95 from 45, both read on 5 November 2026.

A snapshot, not a trophy

On 5 November 2026, Metacritic displays 84 reviews in its critic section and 87 in an All Platforms line, both alongside 96. A previous research snapshot recorded 86. The source does not explain that difference, so these displayed scopes remain separate. OpenCritic’s “100 percent recommended” is the critic yes-rate, not a user poll. User scores are a different bucket and I am not mixing them in.

IGN’s 9 and Eurogamer’s 5 out of 5 are the two reviews I opened myself in the research set. The longer grid, including outlets I only saw quoted, sits on the roundup so this news item stays a date-stamped reading. Tom’s Guide’s 4K phrasing is not repeated as a spec. Digital Foundry’s resolution band is the spec, and it lives on the performance page.

No score on this site is ours. If you need a single sentence for a friend: critics are clustered at the top, and the complaints that repeat are difficulty and the character sculpts.
