Can you play it on Switch 1?

Why the answer is no

The US digital page and the physical page both name Switch 2. Wikipedia records the same platform. Nintendo has not published a sentence that says “we are not making a Switch 1 version.” The evidence is the catalog: one platform, one card format.

Switch 2 can play many Switch 1 games. The other direction does not hold. A Switch 2 game does not boot on the original Switch. Buying the 2026 card for an older console will not give you this remake.

What you can play on Switch 1

Nintendo 64 – Nintendo Classics, with a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership, includes the 1998 Ocarina of Time. That is the original game, not this rebuild. It does not have the new voice cast, the manual jump, or the rebuilt Castle Town.

The 2011 3DS version is a third product. It is not on Switch 1 either. If you want the 2026 game, the hardware in the box has to be Switch 2.

Will Zelda OOT remake be on Switch 1?

No listing exists. Nintendo sells it as a Switch 2 game only.

Is there a Switch 1 cartridge?
