What Master Quest was

Master Quest is the rearranged version of Ocarina of Time that shipped later on GameCube and as an unlock on the 3DS after you finish the story. The 3DS Master Quest mirrors the world and increases damage. The earlier GameCube Master Quest rearranges dungeon puzzles without that mirrored-world rule. Players who finished the 3DS cart remember that menu. It is not on the Switch 2 release.

Nintendo Everything, the 2026 encyclopedia entry, and IGN’s review all say the mode is absent. The Hall of Fallen Foes lets you refight bosses. That is a gallery, not Master Quest.

If you want the rearranged dungeons, the 3DS version is the product that has them. This site does not have a way to add the mode to the Switch 2 cart.

Will Master Quest be added later?

No patch announcement of that kind was on the store page or in the reviews I read on 5 Nov 2026.

Is there any harder mode?

Reviews say there is no Hero Mode. Difficulty stays close to the 1998 game.

What is the boss gallery?

Hall of Fallen Foes, also called Hall of Defeated Foes, shows statues and lets you fight bosses again.
